About Us

We are -

• Merton Amateur Turf Club (MATC) with a very proud heritage in that we are one of the oldest continuous racing club's in Victoria - dating back to 1865.
• Proud of our annual Merton Cup race meeting - held each year on New Years Day - where you'll discover & delight in what real picnic horse racing is all about.
• Staffed and run by a dedicated band of volunteers, where you will be treated to a real country experience where fourth generation locals and visitors come together for a great day out.

Our course is -

• Slightly undulating
• Well grassed and watered
• Great viewing for all with a 200 meter home straight
• Well shaded by century old elms with picnic tables.
